I would agree, and as a NSW Baptist am very heartened by this solid reply.

I can live with the government accruing all the rights of marriage to civil unions, which has almost happened. But when the homosexual lobby wishes to rediefine marriage, which most male homosexuals mock and scorn, which is traditionally the preserve of the church which most homosexuals are estranged from, then it's not about marriage. It's about silencing discussion and forcing approval.

Th day the government says I have to marry anyone who comes to me irrespective of gender, sexual preference etc is the day I start saying I can only marry committed growing believers from within my own congregation. That has its own advantages too.
